How to Use Poison Peanuts

How to Use Poison Peanuts

Victor® Mole & Gopher Poison Peanuts are incredibly easy to use. Note: this product should not be placed in areas that are easily accessible to children and pets.

  1. Prior to treatment, determine which burrows are active by pressing down a small section of the tunnel. The burrow is active if the flattened runway is raised again or the roof has been repaired within 48 hours.
  2. After identifying active burrows, carefully punch a hole in the top of the tunnels with pointed end of cone.
  3. Next, drop in a teaspoon of poison peanuts and carefully close the tunnel with sod or stone.
  4. Do not collapse the runway again or allow loose soil to cover the bait.
  5. After a few days, check the burrows to see if they are still active. If so, repeat treatment.
  6. While wearing waterproof gloves, collect and dispose of exposed dead animals.

Helpfulness
You have to keep at it

Oct 3, 2022
You have to keep at the moles, they are creative and persistent. Just keep actively watching and poking at the fresh mounds, adding a teaspoon of product into the tunnel. Use a small stick instead of the cone. It might take a few weeks. You have to keep going outside every 4 hours and checking for new mounds. This is what worked for me. At 4pm one day, I actually saw with my own eyes, a new tunnel being created. I could see the top of the tunnel growing across the yard, along the fence line, at about a rate of 6 feet per hour. So I poked a few holes in this tunnel, very stealthlike, and quietly, not to disturb them. And about 24 hours later, there was an odor of a dead rodent. Worked!

I've tried both the peanut & worms and to be fair either one has not helped. 6 pack of peanuts & 3 boxes of worms. I followed the TIPS but still to no avail. Im wondering if I doing something wrong or these VOLES are building Condominiums below. Im wiling to try again but as of now spent considerable amount of money for both. Suggestions?? before I get evicted from these guys

It doesn't seem to work. I've followed directions but I keep getting more mounds in the yard. I was gone for about 2 hrs this afternoon and came home to 3 more mounds. Very disappointed.

No results at all.

Just finishing a case (6?) of these. "0" results. The mounds are actually more frequent, larger, and don't seem to ever touch the bait. If they do, it hasn't killed one.

They were inviting the neighborhood gophers over for a block party picnic.

My husband and I used at least two 'cones' of these pellets down several open holes. Each time a new hole opened, another application was made. Most distressing were friends standing in our driveway watching 6 foot Mammoth Sunflowers with 12 inch heads get pulled completely underground in less than five minutes. Stunning sight. Open hole applications on either end of the 9 plants lost over two weeks. Managed to trap one female pocket gophers in another area of the yard near a bird feeder. Not a trace that the product was working.

Fantastic product!!! The only product I have found that kills chipmunks. And in their holes. Discarded my rat traps, darn rats got to smart for them. Just wish I could buy this product in bulk. Four or five pounds at a time.

Does not work

Your mole killer is a farce. It does not kill moles. I have gone through several cones over the last two months. They are still tearing up my front and back yard. I'm wasting my money on your product.

Great Trap!

This is a great trap! Follow the directions and place it as intended, and you will trap plenty of moles. I set mine up on an active tunnel, and had a mole by the second day. There are plenty of YouTube videos showing you how to set it up, which were of great help to me. Its' actually kind of fun trapping these little boogers. They have destroyed a section of my back yard. Just be careful not to let pets dig around the trap once set. It could seriously hurt their paws. Below is a post I made on another site. Dang moles in my back yard have been doing some damage in this one area. I've killed several with a shovel since last year, by watching the ground move, then jamming the shovel down on them. And man, that's so satisfying! Makes me want to break out into a happy dance when I kill one. However, I've had a few misfires with the shovel lately, and decided to try something else. I seriously thought about breaking out the shotgun loaded with buckshot, but that may cause the neighbors to spill their coffee. So, I ordered the trap. Besides, it's much quieter. The trap is the Victor Out O'Sight Mole Trap 0631. Just got it, and will set it up in a day or two. It's pretty big and hefty, and does take some strength to set it. And it is very well built. Stay tuned for some exciting mole killing action! I think! I hope! :)

Not happy

This does not work. I have tried all of Victor's products except the traps and NONE OF THEM WORK. The money spent on these products ought to produce some kind of satisfactory results. I have more tunnels galore. I have a large yard and 5 of the solar sonics didn't even work. I guess I will have to plow up my yard to get rid of them.

The product can be physically removed while wearing gloves, or it will break down on its own in approximately 2-3 weeks.
